Hi. Got around to reinterpreting another piece of Homeworld concept art.
This time it's the Guardian Angel of Hiigara, holding the planet in her hands and protecting it with her wings, forming the Angel Moon logo in the process. (That's also why the wings are so oddly bent.)
She's also wearing a flight suit, as she's a kind of figurehead for the Hiigaran star fleet.
Did this really late at night and added the color just because the original b&w seemed a little bland and... sad. So please excuse the less-than-inspired color job. Might redo that when I'm more awake.
That is awesome... and not just artistically. I think Homeworld has one of the most fantastic stories and settings. The whole concept of the picture is just great.

I doubt the color job is as bland as you say. It really puts the focus on her wings and her hands holding the planet. Maybe a little touch-up on the shadows on her face, but I can't really think of any other nitpicks.
Ya know, with a little touching up I can see this becoming a neat noseart image for a Hiigaran battlecruiser.
thats kind of creepy...but in a beautiful way :3 i like it!

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

Years are like fractals. The more you've seen of them, the more you appreciate the details of each one, rather than how many you've seen.
